Job Description

Wachter IT is currently searching for a Business Analyst 1 or 2. The Business Analyst (BA) is an internal consultant that analyzes business systems / processes and bridges the needs of the business with the use of technology. The BA acts as a liaison between non-technical groups and the IT Department. The BA will typically bring a tremendous amount of system knowledge to the discussion. If the requirements clash between teams or departments, the BA helps to identify and resolve conflicting requirements by asking questions like 'What are the business drivers?', 'What problem are we trying to solve?' and 'Help me understand your current pain points'. The BA’s objective is efficient solutions to operational problems. The best solution for the enterprise is sometimes non-technical. The best solution may be procedural or behavioral in nature.The BA also serves as an escalation path for business logic questions from developers. She/he possesses excellent interpersonal and training skills. They will be involved in end-user training for in house line-of business applications, fielding escalated support calls, tracking bugs and proposing changes to improve user experience. This individual will field support request escalations via phone, email, instant messenger and face to face. She/he will also create documentation, mock-ups, software requirements, videos and may be asked to assist with release notes documentation prior to deployments. The business analyst works closely with the software development team (developers, testers, architects, AppDev Mgr and other BAs) to ensure that software is deployed with the highest quality possible.
